The Artists
Founded in the summer of 2016, Eclectic Choral Artists, is a fully auditioned semi-professional chamber ensemble committed to the highest level of choral music presented in a creative concert format. We bring our love of this art form to Northwest Chicago, connecting  through concerts, community outreach, and unique collaborations, while nurturing the appreciation and enjoyment of choral music in people of all ages and cultures.
 Artistic Director
Marc Alan Brunelle, DMA
 
Dr. Brunelle is currently serving as Director of Liturgy & Music at St. Marcelline Catholic Church in Schaumburg. He is responsible for planning, coordinating and evaluating all liturgical and para-liturgical (non-Eucharistic) worship at St. Marcelline. He is also responsible for training, scheduling and formation for more than 300 liturgical ministers currently serving the parish in a variety of capacities. He serves as conductor of the forty-voice Sanctuary Choir and the sixteen member Schola Cantorum.

In 2003, Marc produced and conducted a widely acclaimed CD featuring the Sanctuary Choir and Jubilation Ringers, as well as began an annual Spring Concert series, which feature the musical forces at St. Marcelline. In 2004, the Sanctuary Choir was heard in concert at the National Association of Pastoral Musicians conference held in Chicago, and at the Catholic Festival of Faith held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in 2006.

At a special invitation by the Vatican, the Sanctuary Choir traveled to Italy to be the principle choir at a Solemn High Mass at the Basilica of St. Peter in Vatican City, the Basilica of St. Francis in Assisi, and performed a highly acclaimed, sold out concert at the Church of the Gesu in the city of Rome in December of 2006. In the summer of 2008, the Choir had a very successful tour of Prague, Austria and Germany, with sold out concerts at St. Nicholas in Prague and St. Peter's in Vienna and sang a Solemn High Mass at Salzburg Cathedral. In the summer of 2011, Dr. Brunelle led a concert tour of Barcelona, Madrid and Montserrat, Spain, presenting a series of concerts of spirituals from the Deep South.

Prior to coming to Chicago, Marc was Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Chapel Music at Wadhams Hall Seminary-College, and Director of Music & Liturgy at the Cathedral of Saint Mary in upstate NY, as well as music consultant for the Diocese of Ogdensburg, NY.

Dr. Brunelle holds the Bachelor of Music in Organ Performance from Rhode Island College, School of Music, and the Master of Music in Choral Conducting from King's College, Cambridge, England, while studying with renowned English conductor, Sir David Willcocks, and holds the Doctor of Musical Arts in Choral Conducting from the Graduate Theological Seminary, and is in demand as a clinician in choral and vocal technique throughout the US.

    James Driscoll has served as a founding board member and President. Mr. Driscoll brings critical knowledge to the board of directors with his knowledge of board governance and organizational management. He has served on other choral organizations as a founding member, treasurer and singer. Mr. Driscoll is currently a member of the faculty of Frassati Catholic Academy in Wauconda, IL. He also serves as member of the Sanctuary Choir, and Parish Pastoral Council at St. Marcelline Catholic Church in Schaumburg, IL. He holds a BS in Biology Education from the University of Illinois-Chicago, and a MSE from Quincy University.

    Mike Drabant is one of the founding members of ECA, and currently serves as secretary of the board. Singing has always been a passion of Mike's dating back to the days of his high school chamber ensemble. He has also been a member of the St. Marcelline Sanctuary Choir since 2007. Mike currently works as an attorney for Wilson & Wilson Estate Planning and Elder Law LLC in LaGrange. His legal background and expertise has proven instrumental for the Eclectic Choral Artists, as he was largely responsible for helping the group achieve non-profit status with the IRS. Mike holds a BA from the University of Maryland in criminal justice and a JD and LLM from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago.
  3. Denise Driscoll

    Denise Driscoll is a founding member of the board of directors. Ms Driscoll currently serves as Assistant Treasurer and is responsible for the daily financial operations. She contributes her vast knowledge as a singer, Member Services Chair, and CD Production Chair with other choral organizations prior to ECA. Ms Driscoll is currently employed by Comprehensive Urologic Care as a medical secretary. She is also a member of the Sanctuary Choir and Cantor Guild at St. Marcelline Catholic Church in Schaumburg, Il.

    Anne Duffy proudly joined the board in November 2016. Anne has a passion for performing arts, and choral music, in particular. She is a current member of the St. Marcelline Sanctuary Choir and Schola Cantorum. Anne has also performed as a solo vocalist and has participated in multiple community theater productions since 2004. Her focus on the ECA board is in the areas of Marketing, Publicity and Concert Production. Anne currently works for Accenture DayNine as a Staffing Manager in Chicago. She holds a B.A. from Columbia College.
  2. Juanita Rusin

    Juanita E. Rusin has served on the advisory board for Eclectic Choral Artists since its inception. Ms. Rusin comes to us with past board experience having worked with various non-profits including the Housewares Charity Foundation. She has held positions in corporate event and travel management for over 15 years; currently with NMLP. Previous positions include Director of Human Resources at Salton Housewares, owner of The Silver Coffer Inc., passenger service representative at British Airways and Mexicana Airlines. Ms. Rusin has worn many hats throughout her varied career path and offers that same versatility to the board.
